Day Five: Focus on What you want and the Power of Symbol
2 June 09
Annie Burns
Yesterday, I wrote about focusing only on what you want and the reason
behind that was that your unconscious mind will act with what you are
focusing on, because of the data you are feeding it.
Today, I am going to talk to you about another directive of our
unconscious mind, and that is not only does it take everything
personally, but it also is symbolic. It responds best to symbols you
give it. This is why, when you write your goals down and begin to focus
on what you want in the form of symbol, you will begin to see these
things appear in your reality. This is an important key!
Ever had the experience of seeing for the first time a new car that
caught your eye? Never seen it before an thinking it must be rare?
Then, you see that car everywhere! I had this experience when I wanted
to buy a boys toy muscle car that was lime green. I saw it and fell in
love with the colour and wanted it. Never saw it before but then it was
everywhere! In the end, I didn't buy it because it was enough to see
the car everywhere and I tired of the colour. But this is an example of
HOW you can use symbols to attract that what you want to you.
You see, its already there but you can't see it. By utilizing this
important way your unconscious mind uses symbols, you can accelerate
your manifestation. You may have heard of creating a vision board. If
you have, and you haven't created this, I would strongly recommend you
go ahead and do this. Just play with it! Because the vision board is a
source of symbol for you
Here is how for those who haven't done this before. Think about your
goals, what images and pictures represent that. Find lots of magazines
brochures, and go through them and cut out pictures of the things that
your goals represent. Use empowering words that stand out. Collect
these and paste them onto a bright coloured cardboard that is your
favourite colour. Mine is hot pink.
Now place this in a prominent place where you are likely to see it
often enough. I have mine in my office just above my laptop so its in
my awareness even when I am not directly looking at it. If you can't do
that as you are at a different location, put it where you pass by
frequently. You can even get it copied at an office place like office
works who will also shrink it down for you.
When you look at your vision board, and any other symbol you have
created, feel the wonderful feelings that go with having that which is
the goal you want. The emotions are very important here in this
interplay with your unconscious mind.
I would love you hear about any success stories as time goes on that
you have around this lesson today. Please let me know and even take a
picture! I might do the same with mine when my batteries charge up on
my phone. We can share our vision boards :-)
